Action Not Needed: WCT is soon to retire. Or not.

UPDATE: WCT is no longer shutting down due to high user interest. We will still continue to monitor WCT in case anything happens. For now, we will keep things the same.

After today’s DDOS attack, we must regret that in order to focus on college, we are closing our doors July 1, 2020. That way you can prepare for the big day when it’s here.

Because of this, we are shutting down WCT Timer immediately following the followup release (4.0.1), but not until July 1, 2020. After July 1, 2020, the program will immediately shut down and no longer function.

However, The GNYT site will remain online until September 15, 2020, which is our expiration date for the domain.

WCT has gone a long way since it was created in 1998. Starting from a Super Bowl concept, it has now span into a software company that makes outstanding software. But we understand how hard it is to get customers on our software for free. We don’t have money to do that, however. Read on below to learn more about the closure timeline.

Timeline for WCT shutdown

January 12, 2020 – Announcement of closure

January 14, 2020 – End of Support for Windows 7

February 11, 2020 – WCT Timer released

February 15, 2020 – Last WCT Timer released

July 1, 2020 – WCT transitions to GNYT

September 15, 2020 – GNYT site shuts down amid domain expiration

Anyways, now is the time to prepare for the closure day. But how? Save all your timers, because it won’t work after July 1. Take a snapshot of the site, because it will switch to GNYT format.

We are very sorry for this breaking news, but we have to move on. We don’t want anything to happen to our founder, as he is going to college.

Thank you for the continued patronage for the past 21 years.
